Broome Optical's history began in 1929 when Optician Ed Broome opened his first location on the first floor of the Fisk Building. In 1968, he expanded to a second location in Wolflin Village, one of the area's first tenants. Both locations operated until 1978, when a new, consolidated location was built on Olsen Street. Almost a decade later, in 1988, a second location was opened at 34th and Bell Street, but it closed in 1994.
